AKM Project:
This Information Management System (IMS) has been designed by AKM to manage our internal projects and service installations. We found that whilst there were a number of packages available in the marketplace, none suited our business or our individual needs.

AKM Project has been developed to ensure that it is simple, quick and easy to use while maintaining a complex database of information.

The main objectives of the software are to ensure:
  • Accurate recording of data
  • Business Performance Indicators or KPI's
  • Avoidance of duplication of work and data entry
  • Optional Integration with Sage Line 50 Accounts for invoicing and nominal code purposes
  • Optional Integration with Sage Line 50 Accounts for Purchase Order Processing
  • Optional Integration with Sage Payroll for basic payroll processing
AKM Project allows businesses to monitor and track projects from initial confirmation of work through to delivery and invoicing.

We want businesses to be able to monitor costs accrued both internally and externally against the project quotation, track developments quickly, record production and be able to view the project status easily.

AKM Project has a number of reports available to the user to assist with KPI's (key performance indicators). The system has been designed so that both the reports and functionality can be tailored to suit individual businesses when required.

It should be noted that Project is not a diary or schedule system. It does not plan the workload for you, but enables you to manage Project costs and provide accurate management information for future work quotations.

The project record holds all the data relating to the project. In the example below, the ‘details’ tab provides the user with key contact information, a project brief and most importantly what costs have been incurred to date against the budget.
The ‘activity’ tab is where the progress of a project is recorded. Everytime an activity takes place that is associated to the project, the details can be recorded and both an internal and external cost generated. If the project has more than 1 quotation attached to it, the user can select which quote they want to associate the activity to. The user could record as much or as little activity as they wanted; onsite meetings, internal briefings, travel and mileage, printing and photocopying, onsite works, even paper and pens!
Multiple quotes (fixed or variable) can be generated for a project record. AKM Project will allow the user to view current quotations, together with the value of the products, services or components required. The user can also generate an invoice for the works completed to date, a fixed value or by individual activity.
